sainik school coaching rms & rimc exams

You studied hard for months. You solved every sample paper you could find. You passed the entrance exam for Sainik School, RMS or RIMC ↗. Then at the exam the doctor checked your eyes and said two words that changed everything. "Not fit."

This happens often than people think. Poor eyesight is a reason students get rejected at the medical stage of defence school admissions. Most families are shocked. They did not know eyesight would be tested. They did not know what the standards were. By the time they find out the chance is already gone.

Here is the thing. If you know about the requirement early you can do something about it. Not everything can be fixed,. Many problems can be managed or improved.

Sainik School Medical Eyesight

This article is for parents and students preparing for Sainik School, Rashtriya Military School (RMS) and RIMC. We will cover what eyesight standards the medical board checks, what you can do to protect and improve your childs vision and why the right coaching programme looks at more than textbooks.

What Eyesight Standards Do Sainik Schools, RMS and RIMC Require?

Defence schools have medical guidelines. The eyesight check is an exam. The standards are clearly defined.

Visual Acuity: This is the eye chart test. The student reads letters on a chart from a fixed distance. For Sainik School and RMS admissions the requirement is 6/6 vision in both eyes without glasses. Some categories allow up to 6/9 in one eye. RIMC expects 6/6 in both eyes.

Colour Vision: Students are tested for blindness using Ishihara plates. If a student cannot identify the numbers correctly they are marked as colour deficient. Colour blindness is genetic. Cannot be corrected.

Squint or Misalignment: The doctor checks if both eyes are properly aligned. A visible squint can lead to rejection. Some squints can be corrected with exercises or minor procedures if caught early.

Other Eye Conditions: Conditions like eye, excessive watering, chronic infection or any structural problem in the eye can also be grounds for rejection.

Why Do Many Students Fail the Eye Test?

There are a reasons. Most come down to one thing. Nobody checked enough.

The biggest problem is screen time. Children spend hours looking at phones, tablets and laptops. This puts strain on young eyes.

Many families do not get their childrens eyes tested regularly. There is no eye exam in most schools. The child may not realise their vision has changed.

Genetic factors also play a role. If one or both parents wear glasses the child has a chance of developing a refractive error.

What Can You Actually Do About It?

Not every eye problem can be fixed.. A lot of common vision issues can be managed.

1.Get an Eye Test Done Now: Take your child to an ophthalmologist today. Get an eye check-up done. If there is a problem you will know about it 6 to 12 months in advance.

2.Follow the 20-20-20 Rule: Every 20 minutes of screen or book time the child should look at something 20 feet away for least 20 seconds.

3.Increase Outdoor Time: Research shows that children who spend time outdoors have a lower risk of developing myopia. Aim for least one to two hours of outdoor activity every day.

4.Reduce Screen Time : Limit phone and tablet use to no more than one hour a day for entertainment. During study time take breaks.

5.Good Lighting While Studying: Make sure your child studies in a lit room. The light should come from the side for right-handed children and from the right for left-handed children.

6. Nutrition for Eye Health: Foods rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin C fatty acids and Zinc support healthy eye development.

7. Eye Exercises: Some simple daily eye exercises can help maintain flexibility and reduce strain.

8.Consult About Atropine Eye Drops: Low-dose atropine drops have been shown to slow down the progression of myopia in children.

What If My Child Already Has a Power?

If your child already wears glasses or has been diagnosed with an error do not panic.

For Sainik School and RMS admissions the standard is 6/6 vision without glasses.

If the power is very mild there is a chance that with eye care habits, reduced screen time, outdoor activity and possibly atropine drops the power can be stabilised.

Why Our Coaching Programme Screens Eyes, on Day One

Sainik School, RMS and RIMC coaching centres only care about the written exam. They ignore everything that comes after it.

We built our coaching programme differently. We got tired of watching good students lose their seats for reasons that could have been caught months earlier.

Eye Care for Students

Our Sainik School, RMS & RIMC Coaching Programme includes a medical check-up at the time of enrolment.

Every student gets their eyes checked.

We check how well they can see, test for colour vision and look for any signs of squint or other eye problems.

If there is an issue we immediately inform the parents. Guide them to the right specialist.

The goal is to find problems so we can do something about them. Not on the day of the medical when its too late.

Our academic preparation is strong.

Our teachers have a lot of experience with AISSEE ↗, RMS and RIMC exams.

They teach every subject in detail give practice tests analyse old exam papers and work on each students weaknesses.

Our students don't just pass the exam.

They score high enough to be safe in the merit list.

Our Sainik School, RMS & RIMC Coaching Programme helps students do well.

We do a medical check-up at the start.

We check flat feet, weight, dental health and ear/nose/throat issues.

If your child has feet we give them exercises to correct it.

If their weight is off we work with the family on diet and exercise.

If there is an eye concern we flag it immediately.

This is what makes our programme different from coaching centres that only focus on the exam.

Defence schools want students who're physically fit.

So we include physical training sessions in our schedule.

Running, exercises, sports. All of this keeps students active builds stamina. Also helps with outdoor time that is good for eye health.

For RIMC and some Sainik School admissions there is an interview round.

We give mock interviews with experienced mentors from defence backgrounds.

Students learn how to speak carry themselves well and make a strong impression.

We have a hostel facility for students from cities.

It is a disciplined environment where students eat well sleep on time study together and stay away, from too much screen use.

The hostel routine alone has helped many students maintain eyesight during their preparation period because their screen time drops dramatically.

Our Sainik School, RMS & RIMC Coaching Programme provides an environment.
