Who Can Apply?
The admission to Sainik Schools is conducted through AISSEE — All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination — managed by NTA (National Testing Agency). There are two entry points:
• Age: 10 to 12 years
• Currently studying in Class 5
• Both boys and girls are eligible
• Applicant must be an Indian citizen
Class 9 Entry
• Age: 13 to 15 years
• Currently studying in Class 8
• Both boys and girls are eligible
• Applicant must be an Indian citizen
How to Fill the Online Application Form?
The process is straightforward if done carefully. Follow these steps one by one:
1. Visit the official NTA website: Go to aissee.nta.nic.in and click on 'New Registration.' Enter your mobile number and email ID to create an account.
2. Fill in the child's personal details: Enter the child's full name, date of birth, and parents' names exactly as mentioned in the birth certificate. Any mismatch can create issues later.
3. Upload required documents: Passport-size photo (JPEG, 10–200 KB), the child's signature (4–30 KB), and a caste certificate if applicable.
4. Choose preferred schools: Select up to 4 Sainik Schools in order of preference.
5. Pay the application fee: General / OBC: Rs. 650 | SC/ST: Rs. 500. Payment can be made via debit card, credit card, or net banking. Always download the receipt after payment.
Exam Pattern — What Will Be Tested?
The entrance exam is an offline OMR-based test. There is no negative marking, which is good news for students.

Important: Clearing the written exam is just the first step. After the merit list is announced, students must also clear a Medical Test and an Interview. All three rounds are compulsory — written exam, medical test, and interview.
What Happens After the Written Exam?
Once the results are declared, the process does not end. Here is what follows:
• A merit list is prepared based on the written exam scores.
• Shortlisted students are called for a Medical Test conducted by the Army Medical Board.
• Students who clear the medical round face a Personal Interview.
• Final admission is offered based on overall performance in all three stages.
This is why preparation must go beyond academics. Physical fitness and communication skills matter equally at Sainik School Coaching.
