What Does the AISSEE 2026 Scorecard Contain?
Your scorecard shows your name, roll number, application number, subject-wise marks, total marks obtained, and your qualifying status (qualified or not qualified).
Check every detail carefully — especially your name, roll number, and category. If you find any error, contact NTA immediately at aissee@nta.ac.in.
AISSEE 2026 Merit List — How It Works
The merit list is separate from the scorecard. NTA releases the qualified and non-qualified candidate lists in PDF format on its official website. The Sainik Schools Society also publishes school-wise merit lists on their portal.
The Class 6 and Class 9 merit lists are published separately. To find your name, open the PDF and press Ctrl+F to search by name or application number.
Who Qualifies?
For General, OBC (NCL), and Defence/ex-servicemen category candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 25% in each subject and 40% in aggregate. This minimum marks rule does not apply to SC/ST candidates, but they must still appear in the merit list to proceed further.
AIR 1 — Top Scorers in AISSEE 2026
For Class 6, AIR 1 was secured by Anuradha Amol Budhawant of Maharashtra with 296 marks. For Class 9, Sahil Kumar Singh from Uttar Pradesh topped with 388 marks.
Tie-Breaking Rule
If two students score the same total marks, NTA applies a defined tie-breaking rule based on subject-wise performance. The priority order of subjects used for tie-breaking is published in the official NTA notification on exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society.
OMR Sheet Download and Re-Evaluation
After the result, students can request to download their OMR sheet from the NTA website. This lets them cross-check their marked answers against the final answer key.
If a student believes their answers were not recorded correctly by the machine, they can apply for OMR verification by paying Rs 100 per question. To contest the grading of a specific answer, the fee is Rs 200 per question. Both requests go through the student login on the NTA portal.
What Happens After the AISSEE Result? — The Full Admission Process
Clearing the written exam is only Step 1. Here is what follows.
Step 1 — Register for E-Counselling (AISSAC)
The Sainik Schools Society, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Defence, manages all seat allocation through the All India Sainik Schools Admission Counselling (AISSAC). This covers both existing Sainik Schools and newly established Sainik Schools for the academic year 2026–27.
The AISSAC 2026 online registration started on January 22, 2026, at pesa.ncog.gov.in/sainikschoolecounselling. A registration window extension was also opened from March 30, 2026 at 05:00 hrs to April 1, 2026 at 23:50 hrs.
Critical warning: No e-counselling agents or third-party cells are authorised by the Sainik Schools Society. No outside agency has any role in seat allocation. Complete the entire process yourself on the official portal only.
Step 2 — Choice Filling
The choice filling window opens after registration closes. Students can add up to 10 preferred Sainik Schools in order of preference. Once all choices are entered, click the "Lock the Choices" button to confirm. The registration and choice filling process is completely free of cost.
Check pesa.ncog.gov.in/sainikschoolecounselling/CounsellingSchedule regularly for updated dates.
Step 3 — Seat Allotment
Seats are allotted based on the student's merit rank, domicile, category (General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, Defence/ex-servicemen), and gender. Preferred school choices filled during counselling are also considered.
Step 4 — Medical Examination
The Sainik Schools Society released the list of candidates selected for the medical round on March 2, 2026. Clearing the medical exam is mandatory. Only medically fit candidates move to the final admission stage.
Step 5 — Document Verification and Admission
After clearing the medical exam, students must submit verified documents to the respective Sainik School to complete admission. Keep all originals and photocopies ready.

What If My Child Did Not Qualify?
Not qualifying AISSEE 2026 is not the end. The exam runs every year. The next cycle — AISSEE 2027 — will open applications later in 2026. Use this time well. Look at the scorecard carefully. It shows which subjects need work. Students currently in Class 4 or 5 have enough time to build a strong base and come back much better prepared. A structured preparation plan started now can make a real difference in the next attempt.
