Sangli is one of those Maharashtra cities that has always punched above its weight. The turmeric trade made it prosperous decades ago, the sugar belt around it kept the economy humming, and the cultural pride of being the home of Vishnudas Bhave's first Marathi theatre still runs through families here. But step away from the Krishna river ghats and the old wadas of Ganpati Peth, and you will find a different kind of Sangli - middle-class families in Vishrambag, Miraj Road, Madhavnagar, and Wanlesswadi, who think very seriously about their children's futures. Many of these families have someone who served, or someone who tried to. The Maratha Light Infantry recruits steadily from this belt, and the Bombay Sappers from nearby Pune have their old links here too. The dream of getting a son into a Sainik School is not loud here, but it is steady - passed quietly from one generation to the next.
The trouble is, wishing for that seat and earning that seat are very different things. Sainik School coaching Sangli at our centre is built specifically for the second part. We do not coach for school exams or final report cards. We coach for the actual papers - AISSEE ↗, RMS, RIMC ↗. Three exams, three different patterns, all needing genuinely separate preparation.
Your son's first week with us costs nothing. He writes a small assessment, our seniormost teacher marks it personally, and then we sit down with you for around twenty minutes and walk through every page. Strong areas circled, weak areas circled differently, and a clear plan for the next ninety days written on one sheet you take home. Children come to our Sangli centre from across the city, Miraj, Kupwad, Tasgaon, Islampur, Walwa, and from Kolhapur side on weekends. For families further out - Jath, Kavathe Mahankal, sometimes even from Vijayapura just across the Karnataka border - we run a full live online batch with the same teachers handling the offline class. Same homework, same Saturday mock paper, same teacher's voice. We refuse to run a watered-down online version. Walk in any weekday between 10 in the morning and 7 in the evening.
I want to put something on the table that almost every coaching centre dances around. The AISSEE is not just an exam - it is a time-pressure exam dressed up as a knowledge exam. And the question parents almost never ask until December, when the panic sets in, is this - can my child actually finish 200 questions in 150 minutes? Most cannot. Not because they do not know the answers. Because nobody has taught them how to manage a clock that does not stop. We see this in every new student's first mock paper - the Maths section eats his time, English gets rushed, GK is left half-attempted, and Intelligence is guessed in the last ten minutes. School never trained him for that. Our military school coaching Sangli programme treats the clock as a separate subject. Daily timed drills. OMR sheets from the very first week, not from the last month. A complete mock paper every Saturday morning. By the time the real AISSEE comes, your son does not just know the answers - he knows the pace.
Here is a piece of information you will not see on competitor websites because most of them do not bother explaining it. Sainik School Satara is the very first Sainik School in India, established in 1961, and it is the most prestigious one in the country for many families. That single fact pushes the Maharashtra Home State cut-off consistently higher than the all-India average. So a Sangli boy is not just up against the national pool - he is up against every well-prepared boy from Pune, Nashik, Kolhapur, Mumbai, and Aurangabad fighting for the same Satara seats. Knowing this changes the design of preparation completely. Our papers are calibrated to this tougher Maharashtra benchmark, not to the friendlier all-India average. That is why our students rarely get unpleasant surprises on results day.
AISSEE Class 6 - Maths, English, GK, Intelligence. Whole syllabus, slow on the first pass, faster on revision. Monthly OMR mock. We do not start a new chapter until the chapter test crosses 70%.
AISSEE Class 9 - Science and Social Studies join the syllabus and the difficulty curve climbs sharply. Wednesday chapter tests, Saturday full mocks from 8 to 10:30 AM. By exam day your son has done forty-five plus mock papers - the real one feels like number forty-six.
RMS Coaching Sangli - Two parallel tracks for Class 6 and Class 9 entry. RMS leans heavier on reasoning and moves at a quicker pace than AISSEE. Our weekly papers match that exactly so there are no nasty surprises in Belgaum or Ajmer.
RIMC Coaching Sangli - Written paper, interview, and viva all in one integrated course. Mock interviews are taken by a retired Army officer who served on actual selection panels in his service days. Your son learns how to handle a panel of officers long before he sits in front of one in Dehradun.
Crash Course - Built for parents who walk in during October when the exam is in January. Daily classes, daily short tests, doubt slot from 7:30 to 8:30 every weekday evening. The pace is hard. Not every child handles it. But the children who stick it out - they walk into the exam centre with something earned, not borrowed.

In 2025, the boy who topped our Class 6 batch scored 264 out of 300 - the highest mark from the Sangli-Kolhapur-Satara belt that year. Two of our Satara selections were boys from Tasgaon - their fathers run jaggery wholesale shops near the old market. Both paid only 30% of their course fees because they cleared our scholarship test the previous September. We share these specifics because results, in our view, are not just about toppers. They are about which families in this region actually got their son a seat in the school they wanted.
We take children from Class 4 onwards. At that age the classes look nothing like exam preparation - there is mental arithmetic, English through small stories, and a Saturday puzzle hour where the children laugh more than they study. No homework piles, no pressure on small shoulders. By the time the same boy reaches Class 6 and sits down for AISSEE, the paper format is already familiar territory. Two extra years of slow, unhurried practice creates something a nine-week crash course can never match. Almost every parent who started their son in Class 4 has told us the same line in their own words - we should have walked in a year sooner.
Twice every year. Once in April, once in September. Last year eleven children walked away with fee discounts ranging from 25% to a full 100% off. The test is open to every child - already enrolled or just considering joining. The paper covers AISSEE subjects, so even a child who wins nothing goes home having put in two solid hours of pattern practice. RIMC aspirants are welcome at the same test. There is no separate gate.
Walk in any weekday for the free assessment, or call us between 9 AM and 8 PM, any day of the week. We pick up.
