Twin cities usually split unevenly, one gets the name recognition, the other gets everything unglamorous that actually keeps things running. That's Naharlagun's relationship with Itanagar in a nutshell. The capital gets the Assembly, the museums, the tourist mentions. Naharlagun quietly holds the permanent bench of the Gauhati High Court and runs Naharlagun Railway Station, which isn't a minor detail, it's the actual terminus connecting the whole state to India's rail network by train. Every train in or out of Arunachal Pradesh passes through here, not through the capital next door, a fact most people outside the region never learn simply because Itanagar's name does all the talking in conversation. There's something instructive in that arrangement, a town that does the structural work without needing the credit for it tends to raise kids who understand that showing up and doing the job matters more than who gets mentioned afterward.
Sainik Coaching runs AISSEE Class 6, AISSEE Class 9, RMS, and RIMC preparation in Naharlagun, in person and online, no difference in material either way. Want to skip ahead and just talk? Reach out directly.
Arunachal Pradesh runs its own Sainik School, Sainik School East Siang, located at Ruksin in East Siang district. Class 6 admits both boys and girls, Class 9 currently doesn't, boys only for now. Being in-state changes the math meaningfully, Arunachal domicile candidates sit inside the standard 67 percent home quota instead of competing for whatever's left in the smaller pool everyone else fights over. RMS is a separate story entirely, since the northeast has no RMS campus at all, so a selected student ends up boarding out of state, usually at Dholpur. RMS coaching in Naharlagun sticks to the genuine RMS CET pattern rather than repackaging AISSEE content under a different name, and RIMC coaching runs the same way, built specifically around what RIMC's written paper and interview actually test.
125 questions, two and a half hours, that's the real AISSEE pace, and nothing about a normal school test comes close to preparing a student for it. Most parents only find this out once a full mock test happens, watching a child who's genuinely solid at Maths run out of time regardless. The Intelligence section is usually the worst surprise, since it doesn't exist as its own subject in any standard curriculum, so a student is facing it for the first time on exam day itself unless someone's trained it specifically beforehand. That's the actual work here, pacing, the judgment to abandon a question that's not worth its cost, accuracy that survives to question 120 the same way it held at question 20. Physical batch, online batch, doesn't matter, the tests and correction stay identical either way.
Concepts get the front half of the week, new material introduced slowly enough that it actually sinks in rather than being crammed and forgotten by the next session. From there it's straight into timed drills, tight sets against a real clock, since speed is built through repetition in small doses rather than one long push before the exam. A separate slot each week goes specifically to whatever a particular student is weakest in that week, not a fixed topic assigned to the whole group, because two students rarely need the same fix at the same time. Once a month, the usual weekend class gets replaced entirely by a full-length mock at genuine AISSEE length, not a trimmed version. Students working toward RIMC get one more session layered on top of all this, dedicated to subjective writing and interview prep specifically, territory the standard AISSEE track never has to enter.
| Track | Eligibility | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| AISSEE Class 6 | Class 6-eligible | Maths, Language, GK, Intelligence |
| AISSEE Class 9 | Class 8-eligible | Adds Science & Social Studies |
| RMS | AISSEE-eligible | RMS CET's own pattern |
| RIMC | Ages 11.5–13 | Advanced English, Maths, interview |
Class 5 students get a year's head start through a Foundation batch, easing into Maths and reasoning without exam stress, so nothing feels unfamiliar once real preparation begins. Anyone joining later has a Crash Course option built for speed rather than a slow build. The choice between the standard AISSEE route and RIMC usually comes down to how strong a child's English and reasoning already are, not a rule handed out uniformly.
Nobody on the teaching staff treats AISSEE, RMS, and RIMC as one exam with three names, because the differences between them are real and a generalist tutor tends to miss most of it. Mock testing measures students nationally, so a parent gets an honest picture rather than a flattering local one. Progress reports name exact scores and exact gaps, not vague reassurance, and doubt-clearing gets its own booked time separately, so a missed class from a bad travel day doesn't quietly turn into a missed week.
A scholarship test runs once a year, open to anyone in the Naharlagun area regardless of enrollment status, matched closely enough to AISSEE's actual difficulty that even a losing attempt is genuinely useful. Top scorers get a fee waiver. Fee structure gets explained plainly at the very first meeting, and RIMC coaching in particular stays within reach for a genuinely strong student from Nirjuli or Doimukh rather than being priced out of range.
Ask about Sainik School admission Naharlagun, book a free counselling session, or just call. A town that's spent years quietly connecting an entire state to the rest of the country should have no trouble getting one more student ready for a uniform. The choice between AISSEE, RMS, and RIMC usually sorts itself out once we've actually talked through where a child stands today, and that conversation costs nothing to start.
