Know The Three Exams Before You Start

AISSEE - All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination NTA runs this exam every year for admission into Sainik Schools nationwide. They release the notification around October or November and conduct the exam in January. Boys and girls aged 10 to 12 can appear for Class 6. For Class 9, boys between 13 and 15 years qualify (age counted as of 31st March).

RMS CET - Rashtriya Military School ↗ Common Entrance Test The Directorate General of Military Training conducts this for India's five Rashtriya Military Schools. They put out the notification around September or October and hold the exam in December. Class 6 accepts boys and girls aged 10 to 12. Class 9 takes only boys aged 13 to 15. The paper covers maths, English, GK, and intelligence.

RIMC - Rashtriya Indian Military College Entrance Exam This one sits right at the top of the difficulty ladder. RIMC Dehradun opens doors only for Class 8 admission. The notification appears around February or March, and the exam happens in June. Boys and girls aged 11.5 to 13 who study in or have cleared Class 7 can sit for it. Only about 25 students crack through each term. The selection rate tells you everything about the competition.
