Hindupur sits at the northern edge of the Sri Sathya Sai district, where Andhra Pradesh meets Karnataka. The Pennar river runs nearby. Silk weaving, stone quarrying, a city that has always straddled two states and drawn from both. The families here - from Hindupur, Penukonda, Lepakshi, Parigi, Madakasira - carry that border-district quality of knowing what is available nearby and going to get it.
What is available nearby matters a great deal for Hindupur families asking about military school entrance exams. Because Hindupur sits approximately 150 kilometres from Bangalore. And in Bangalore is the Rashtriya Military School - one of only five in all of India.
That distance is the first thing we tell Hindupur families when they call. Most of them didn't know it.

AISSEE - All India Sainik School Entrance Exam. One paper every January covering all 33 Sainik Schools in India. The closest Sainik School for Andhra Pradesh students is Korukonda - approximately 300 kilometres from Hindupur. Andhra Pradesh domicile helps in seat allocation there, but the written paper is identical for every student. Rank decides everything.
RMS Bangalore - Rashtriya Military School. Approximately 150 kilometres from Hindupur. One of five RMS institutions in the country, with its own entrance paper, its own marking scheme, and its own interview format - completely separate from AISSEE. For families from Hindupur and the surrounding district, this proximity is significant. Most families in this region do not know the RMS exam exists as a distinct path when they first contact us.
We run AISSEE and RMS coaching as completely separate batches. A student who wants to target both can - but the preparation for each is built independently. Applying for RMS with only AISSEE training leaves gaps exactly where RMS selection is decided.
School exams check whether the student knows the chapter. AISSEE checks whether the student can handle 125 questions in 150 minutes on an OMR sheet - four subjects simultaneously, no going back, no partial credit, no extra time. RMS tests the same type of exam-readiness but with a different paper structure and heavier weighting in English and Reasoning.
Both exams reward students who have trained specifically for the format. Not just students who know the content. The two things are different.
Three things catch Hindupur students in these exams.
The Intelligence section. Series, patterns, analogies, spatial reasoning, coding-decoding - school curriculum does not build this the way AISSEE and RMS test it. Has to be practised daily from Week 1 until it becomes automatic. Students who do this consistently find it becomes their most reliable section. English depth. Hindupur has a mix of Telugu-medium and English-medium schools, with Telugu-medium dominant in surrounding mandals. We work on the precise exam content, not general English.

English built for the AISSEE paper. Previous year comprehension formats, fill-in-the-blank types, vocabulary ranges, grammar patterns - at exam speed. Not school English.

At 150 kilometres from Hindupur, RMS Bangalore is the closest significant military school entrance in the region. The paper is not AISSEE. English and Reasoning are weighted differently and that is where most RMS selections are won or lost.

We identify which one we're dealing with before building the preparation plan.
From that we build week by week. Clear section targets per month. Adjustments made the same week a target is missed - not reviewed at month end when the opportunity to correct has already passed.
Batches stay small so every student remains visible to the teacher. If a student's Intelligence scores are dropping across three consecutive Saturday mocks, that gets caught in Week 3 and corrected - not noticed vaguely at the end of the month.
