Yes, Garhwa was named one of India's 250 most backward districts. Yes, the roads to Bhawanathpur and Bhandaria are not great. Yes, the airport is 140 km away in Varanasi.
None of that has anything to do with how sharp your child's mind is.
Garhwa kids walk five kilometres to school. They speak two or three languages at home - Hindi, Bhojpuri, Sadri, sometimes a tribal tongue. They live within reach of a temple that holds a centuries-old gold idol of Radha-Krishna. They grow up watching the Son river change colour with the seasons.
That is a child with grit already built in. What they need is a teacher who can point them at the AISSEE paper and say - you can do this, and here is exactly how.
AISSEE Class 6 gives a child 150 minutes for 200 questions. That works out to 45 seconds for each one. Class 9 is just as tight.
Most kids who fail this paper are not weak in studies. They freeze when the bell rings. They read each question twice. They get stuck on one Maths sum and burn ten minutes. They look up and half the paper is still empty.
Speed in a real exam is not luck. It is a habit, slowly built.
Every Saturday at our centre, your child sits a full 150-minute mock test. Same OMR sheet. Same number of questions. Same paper pattern as January. After ten such Saturdays, the actual exam feels like one more practice round. That calmness is what gets the seat.
67% of seats at Sainik School Tilaiya are kept for Jharkhand students. Inside that, separate cutoffs exist for OBC, SC and ST.
Garhwa has all three categories in large numbers. We also have a primitive tribal group, the Korwas, settled in Bhandaria and Bhawanathpur blocks. For ST children, including Korwa, the cutoff is meaningfully lower than the general one.
Most families in Garhwa never get told this clearly. We sit with you on day one and put real numbers on paper:

AISSEE Class 6 - Maths, English, General Knowledge, and Intelligence. A chapter test before every new topic. No child moves on until they score 70% in the current unit.
AISSEE Class 9 - Same four plus Science and Social Studies. Wednesday chapter tests. Saturday full mock from 8 AM to 10:30 AM.
RMS Coaching - For Rashtriya Military Schools, Class 6 and Class 9. The RMS paper leans harder on reasoning, so our weekly practice is set up for that from day one.
RIMC ↗ Coaching - Written exam, interview and viva taught as one course. The mock interview panel includes a retired Army officer. Your son faces a real interview here in Garhwa before he ever boards a train to Dehradun.
Crash Course - For families who come in by October. Daily class. Daily test. Doubt session every evening from 7:30 to 8:30.
Foundation Batch (Class 4 and 5) - Saturdays only. Mental Maths, picture reasoning, English reading. By the time the child reaches Class 6, half the AISSEE pattern is already familiar.

These numbers are smaller than Palamu's or Koderma's. We will not pretend otherwise. Garhwa is just starting out, and we are growing one batch at a time. Your child can be on next year's list.
A scholarship test is held every April and September. It is free and open to every child in Garhwa district. You do not have to enrol with us first.
Last year, eight kids got fee waivers ranging from 25% to a full 100%. No child from Garhwa, Bhawanathpur, Nagar Untari (Shree Banshidhar Nagar), Ranka, Majhiaon, Bhandaria, Meral, Dhurki or Ramna should miss a Sainik School seat just because the family is short on money. If that is your situation, just tell us when you walk in. We will sort it. No long form. No awkward questions.
Ex-servicemen families - bring your service papers. The concession is confirmed the same day.
ST families - special fee slab applies, including for Korwa families from Bhandaria and Bhawanathpur. Ask us when you come.
Defence wards from the BSF and CISF posts along the borders - your concession is the same as Army families. Just bring the papers.
Garhwa has 20 blocks spread across 4,000 square kilometres. Some of those blocks have road conditions that get really hard in the monsoon. We know - many of our parents have told us how long it takes to bring a child to Garhwa town from Bhandaria or Sagma.
So we run a live online batch alongside the classroom. Same teacher. Same timing. Same test paper. Your child joins from home on a phone or a basic laptop. The Saturday mock test is taken on a printed OMR sheet that we post to your address. You scan and send it back the same evening.
Three of our 2025 selections came through this online batch. One was from Nagar Untari. Two from Ranka subdivision. The format works.
Walk in for a short diagnostic test. Your child writes for 45 minutes. You leave with a written 90-day plan - subject by subject, week by week. There is no fee for this first session.
