Between 1886 and 1890, a young boy named Birsa Munda studied at the Lutheran Middle School in Chaibasa. He was a Munda tribal from West Singhbhum - exactly the kind of child the system was not built for. But those four years in this town shaped him into the man who took on the British Empire. He was 25 when they jailed him. He had already become a legend.
Chaibasa is that kind of place. The Ho people held off the British here until 1837. The Kolhan region - Jharkhand's largest district - earned its name from Singbonga, the supreme deity of the Adivasis. This soil has never produced people who give up easily.
And yet, when it comes to AISSEE ↗ coaching, families in Chaibasa have been sending children to Ranchi or Jamshedpur, or signing up for online batches made for someone else's district. That is a strange thing to accept in Kolhan.
That gap ends here. Dedicated Sainik School coaching is now available in Chaibasa itself.
Class 6 AISSEE - 200 questions, 150 minutes. Forty-five seconds per question. Class 9 AISSEE - 150 questions, 180 minutes. Equally brutal.
Most children who fail do not fail because they don't know the syllabus. They fail the clock. A child reads a question twice. Sits too long on one sum. Looks at the OMR sheet with 12 minutes left and half the bubbles empty. Then negative marking of 0.25 per wrong answer turns guessing into a score collapse.
The cure is not more notes. It is repeated real-condition practice. Every Saturday, students at our Chaibasa centre sit a full timed mock - proper OMR sheet, same negative marking, same paper pattern as AISSEE. After ten Saturdays, the January exam feels like the eleventh test. That calmness earns the seat.

Jharkhand Home State Quota - 67% 67 of every 100 seats at Sainik School Tilaiya stay within Jharkhand. Your child competes mostly against Jharkhand kids - not the whole country.

West Singhbhum has one of the highest tribal populations in Jharkhand. Ho, Munda, Bhumij and other Scheduled Tribe communities fill a large share of homes in this district. The ST reservation - 7.5% of all seats plus a lower qualifying score threshold - is a real, usable advantage. Most families here are entitled to it and have never been told how to claim it properly. We do that from day one.
Defence Ward Quota - 25% of the remaining seats go to wards of serving and retired Army, Navy and Air Force personnel. If a parent or grandparent has served, your child sits in a much smaller, more favourable pool. Coast Guard and Assam Rifles wards are also considered.
Girls - minimum 10% of Class 6 seats, or at least 10 seats, whichever is higher.
You walk in, we check your documents - Jharkhand domicile certificate, caste or service papers - and hand you a written target score before you leave. A real number, not a slogan.
AISSEE Class 6 - Maths, English, General Knowledge, Intelligence. Chapter test before every new topic. No child advances until they clear 70% in the current unit.
AISSEE Class 9 - Adds Science and Social Studies. Wednesday chapter tests. Full Saturday mock from 8 AM to 11 AM.
RMS Coaching - Rashtriya Military Schools, Class 6 and 9. About 70% of RMS seats are reserved for defence wards - a strong second path for many Chaibasa families. The paper is reasoning-heavy. Our schedule is built for that pattern from week one.
RIMC ↗ Coaching - Written exam, interview and viva prepared as one single course. A retired Army officer sits on our mock panel. Your son faces a real interview in Chaibasa before he travels to Dehradun.
Crash Course - For families joining from October. Daily class, daily test, doubt session every evening from 7:30 to 8:30.
Foundation Batch (Class 4 and 5) - Saturdays only. Mental Maths, picture reasoning, English reading. By the time the child reaches Class 6, half the paper pattern is already familiar.

The 2025 selections included children from Chaibasa town, Chakradharpur, Noamundi, Manoharpur and Jagannathpur. Several came through the ST and OBC-NCL home-state lists.
West Singhbhum is Jharkhand's largest district - 5,291 sq km spread across 18 blocks. Families in Khuntpani, Sonua or Gudri cannot commute daily. We run a live online batch alongside the classroom - same teacher, same hour, same test. Saturday mocks are printed OMR sheets posted to your address. Scan and return the same evening. Two 2025 selections came through this batch.
Scholarship tests every April and September - open to every child in West Singhbhum district. No prior enrolment needed to sit the test.
Last year, eleven children received waivers from 25% to full 100%.
ST and SC families - valid Jharkhand caste certificate and domicile. Separate slab confirmed at the counter, same visit. Defence families - service book or pension papers. Concession confirmed the same day. OBC-NCL families - central-list certificate required. Slab explained on arrival.
No child from Chaibasa, Chakradharpur, Noamundi, Manoharpur, Jagannathpur, Goilkera, Tonto, Bandgaon, Khuntpani, Sonua, Majhgaon, Haatgamharia, Kumardungi, Tantnagar, Anandpur, Manjhari, Gudri or anywhere else in Kolhan should miss a Sainik School seat over money. Walk in and say so. We sort it, no forms, no awkward questions.
