In 1965, monks who'd fled Tibet six years earlier finally had somewhere permanent to stand. Bomdila Monastery went up that year, built under the guidance of the 12th Tsona Gontse Rinpoche, and it wasn't conceived as a monument to what had been lost, it was built to keep something running. Teaching continued. Prayer continued. Three sections still divide the monastery today, an Upper Gompa that trains young monks, a Middle Gompa holding a Blue Medicine Buddha locals still travel to see, and a Lower Gompa where daily community life happens. The 14th Dalai Lama sanctified it himself in 1997, more than three decades after the original construction, a formal blessing added onto something that had already been quietly functioning the whole time. None of this is ancient history dressed up for tourists, it's a working institution that people arriving with nothing managed to sustain anyway, and that habit of sustaining things properly under pressure doesn't feel foreign to families here when a child starts preparing seriously for something like AISSEE.
Sainik Coaching runs AISSEE Class 6, AISSEE Class 9, RMS, and RIMC preparation in Bomdila, in a classroom and online both, identical material either way. If you'd rather skip the reading and just talk it through, that's fine too, reach out directly.
Arunachal Pradesh actually has its own Sainik School. Sainik School East Siang sits at Ruksin in East Siang district, and it takes both boys and girls for Class 6, though Class 9 right now is boys-only. That in-state status matters because it puts Arunachal domicile candidates inside the standard 67 percent home quota, which is a genuinely different starting position than applying into a state that has no local reservation at all. RMS doesn't work this way, there's no RMS campus anywhere in the northeast, so a selected student boards out of state, most commonly Dholpur. RMS coaching in Bomdila is built around the actual RMS CET pattern specifically, not just AISSEE material relabelled, and RIMC coaching here follows the same principle, trained to what RIMC's written paper and interview genuinely demand rather than treated as a harder version of AISSEE.
Most families discover this the hard way, during a mock test rather than before one. A child who's genuinely good at Maths in school can still run out of time completely on the real AISSEE paper, 125 questions inside two and a half hours, a pace no ordinary school test ever demands. The Intelligence section makes it worse, because it simply isn't part of any regular school syllabus anywhere, so a student walks into that section having never practised the specific kind of thinking it requires. What we actually train here isn't more content. It's pace. It's knowing when to abandon a question rather than fight it. It's staying accurate on question one hundred the same way you were on question ten. A student in the physical Bomdila batch and a student attending online get exactly the same tests, the same correction, the same standard, the difference is only where they're sitting when they take them, which matters more here than in most towns once the winter passes close.
Early in the week, new concepts get broken down properly rather than rushed, the point where a topic either clicks or doesn't, and rushing this stage tends to cost more time later than it saves now. By midweek the focus shifts entirely to timed practice, short sets run strictly against the clock so pace becomes instinct rather than something a student has to consciously remember under pressure. One session every week gets reserved specifically for whatever section is currently weakest, decided student by student rather than applied evenly across the whole batch, because a class where everyone drills the same thing regardless of where they're actually stuck wastes half its value. Once a month, a full-length paper replaces the usual weekend slot, run at the real AISSEE length and timing rather than a shortened version. Students aiming for RIMC get an additional weekly block on top of all this, subjective writing and interview practice, since that track asks for skills the standard AISSEE route simply doesn't touch.
| Track | Eligibility | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| AISSEE Class 6 | Class 6-eligible | Maths, Language, GK, Intelligence |
| AISSEE Class 9 | Class 8-eligible | Adds Science & Social Studies |
| RMS | AISSEE-eligible | RMS CET's own pattern |
| RIMC | Ages 11.5–13 | Advanced English, Maths, interview |
Class 5 students can start a year early through a Foundation batch, steady Maths and reasoning work without exam pressure attached, so the real thing doesn't feel unfamiliar later. Students joining late get a Crash Course instead, built around compression rather than a slow year-long build. Most families end up choosing between the standard AISSEE route and the RIMC track based on how a child's English and reasoning already compare to grade level, not on any fixed rule.
Faculty here work only inside AISSEE, RMS, and RIMC, they don't treat the three as one exam wearing different hats, because the patterns genuinely diverge and a generalist tutor tends to miss exactly where. Mock testing runs nationally, not locally, so when a parent asks where their child stands, the answer reflects real competition rather than a flattering local comparison. Monthly reports come with specifics attached, not a vague "doing well," and doubt-clearing gets booked as its own separate slot so a missed class from a snowbound road never quietly becomes a missed week.
An open scholarship test runs once a year for any student here, whether enrolled already or not, close enough to AISSEE's real difficulty that even losing it still counts as useful practice. Top scorers get a fee waiver. Fees themselves get explained clearly at the first meeting, not left as a surprise for later, and RIMC coaching in particular stays reachable for a genuinely capable student from Dirang or Rupa without cost quietly becoming the deciding factor.
Reach out about Sainik School admission Bomdila, book a free counselling session, or just call. A town that's kept something this demanding running since 1965 isn't going to have trouble raising one more student ready for a uniform. The road up from Rupa or Dirang gets harder once the snow settles in, which is exactly why the online option exists in the first place, not as a backup plan but as an equal one.
