If you’re preparing for the Rashtriya Military School Common Entrance Test (RMS CET ↗) 2027, understanding the syllabus is the first and most important step. The exam is designed to evaluate a student’s academic foundation, logical thinking, and general awareness based on the CBSE ↗ curriculum. With the right clarity about subjects and topics, students can plan their preparation in a smarter and more focused way.
For Class 6, the syllabus is based on the CBSE Class 5 level and includes four subjects: Mathematics, English, General Knowledge, and Intelligence (Reasoning). Mathematics focuses on basic concepts like number system, fractions, decimals, percentage, profit and loss, simple interest, time and distance, and elementary geometry. This section mainly tests calculation speed and accuracy. English is a qualifying subject and includes grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, and comprehension. Students need to secure minimum marks in this section to pass. General Knowledge covers basic science, history, geography, current events, and everyday awareness topics. The Intelligence section evaluates reasoning skills through topics like coding-decoding, series, analogy, direction sense, and pattern recognition.
For Class 9, the syllabus is based on the CBSE Class 8 curriculum and is more detailed. It includes five subjects: Mathematics, Science, Social Science, English, and Hindi. Mathematics includes algebra, linear equations, exponents, ratio and proportion, mensuration, and data interpretation. Science covers basic concepts from physics, chemistry, and biology such as force, energy, chemical changes, and human body systems. Social Science includes history, geography, and civics topics like the Indian Constitution, resources, agriculture, and important historical events. English focuses on grammar, comprehension, and writing skills, while Hindi includes grammar, comprehension, and sentence formation.
The exam pattern for both classes is objective in nature, with multiple-choice questions answered on an OMR sheet. The total marks are generally around 200, and candidates who qualify in the written exam are called for an interview. Overall, the RMS CET syllabus is not very difficult but requires consistent practice, strong basics, and proper time management to score well.
